Christmas 2018
I think I, along with most people, ask each year, how is it Christmas already? Time certainly flies and before you know it, it’s time to deck the halls! I will admit, last year’s decorating theme came a little more easily to me. I had just decided to really embrace my love of blue and white, and incorporate it in to my everyday decor. After that, my Christmas theme easily came together.
This year like every year, I wanted to do something, while keeping some of my blue. I really missed traditional Christmas red but have always tried to push myself to do something different. Then I realized I hadn’t incorporated ANY red since 2013! So after 5 years, I decided it was time to bring the red back.
I especially love a tartan plaid, so I used all variations of tartan in my wrapping paper, pillows and table decor. The beautiful red plaid pillows from Williams-Sonoma Home, were the perfect compliment to my holiday decor. To round things out, I topped my dining room table off with beautiful tartan dinner plates by Ralph Lauren and salad plates by Wedgwood.
Lastly, nothing feels more festive than live garland and wreathes. I went to my local nursery and found beautiful, live cedar garland for my mantel and dining room table.
