Let me just cut to the chase on this one. This is by far the BEST grilled cheese sandwich I've had (so far). I love all-things-Italian and who doesn't love a grilled cheese? I love trying different things when it comes to a grilled cheese, but this combination of ingredients is simply, perfetto!
Ingredients:
For 2 Sandwiches
β’ 4 slices of Sourdough Bread
β’ Sliced Mozzarella Cheese
β’ Sliced Pepper Jack Cheese
β’ Sliced Salami
β’ Sliced Prosciutto
β’ Roasted Red Peppers
β’ Fresh Basil Leaves
β’ 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
β’ 1/4 tsp Garlic Powder (for seasoned butter spread)
β’ 1/4 tsp dried Oregano (for seasoned butter spread)
β’ Pasta sauce for dipping
Directions:
Add the garlic powder and dried Oregano to the softened, unsalted butter. Spread butter onto one side of each slice of bread. Lay 2 slices of bread, butter side down, on to a griddle pan. I like to layer my ingredients so I started with a slice of Mozzarella, then Salami, Pepper Jack, Red Peppers, Mozzarella, Prosciutto, and finally, the Basil! Cover with a slice of bread, butter side up and cook sandwiches until golden on both sides. Serve with a side of heated, red pasta sauce.
